Saturday, April 9, 2016 is the date for the inaugural running of the Osprey 10k/5k Run/Walk at Smith Mountain Lake State Park. Proceeds from this event will benefit programs at the State Park. With your sponsorship we can continue our efforts to enhance the public’s experience at the Park, and to foster environmental stewardship and education.
The Osprey 10K/5K is a USATF sanctioned event and an official event of the 50th Anniversary of Smith Mountain Lake. It will be a run/walk for participants of all ages and activity levels. We will highlight the wonderful attributes of the Park as participants make their way along the beautiful roadways in the Park. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in all age groups.
Friends of Smith Mountain Lake State Park, Inc. is a volunteer 501(c) (3) organization dedicated to promoting use, enjoyment, and appreciation of Smith Mountain Lake State Park. 2016 will mark our 20th anniversary as an organization in support of the park.
