Please join us for the inaugural Kiwanis Club of Wythe County 5K event!
All proceeds from this event benefit the Kiwanis Club of Wythe County, a non-profit club which raises funds to support over 10 programs involving area youth.
In addition to providing every Wythe County kindergarten student with a book – along with funding for reading aids at local elementary schools and the library – the Club also funds the Ralph C. Whitt Memorial Scholarship Endowment at Wytheville Community College. This endowment is presented to students at WCC twice a year. Additionally, the Club provides pocket constitutional booklets to all seventh-grade county students annually, along with financial support to after-prom events within our local high schools.
Walkers are welcome, too!
The race will begin just below the parking circle between Wytheville Community College and the Wytheville Meeting Center, while ending down in the lower WCC lot (in front of Bland and Grayson Halls). Parking will be available in the upper lots close to Smyth Hall (across from the pond on Commonwealth Drive).
Restrooms will be available in the lower half of Carroll Hall. Timing and finish line services will be managed by Run Roanoke.
Awards will go to the Top 3 overall male and Top 3 overall female runners, plus the top 3 runners in the following age groups (both male and female): 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 and over.
