Description
This is a staggered benefit run to help fund intensive therapies needed to treat local children. These therapies are not covered by insurance. Your $44 run registration fee will make a difference in the treatment of these kids! You will also get a great t-shirt by local Bigger Chicken Apparel and a scrumptious to go lunch from local Beam Me Up BBQ! There is a link for the virtual option as well if you'd prefer not running in a staggered group. Runners, walkers, strollers, wheelchairs, and those of all abilities are encouraged to participate! The race course follows the Woods Creek Trail. Beginning and ending at the Historic Miller House Museum in Jordan's Point Park in Lexington Virginia, you will run up the hill to VMI's scenic view overlooking practice fields and barracks before getting a taste of Washington & Lee campus. You will glide by the beautiful and bubbling Wood's Creek before crossing into the Lime Kiln Park and turning around on the far side of Waddell Elementary. The finish will be a glorious down hill dash! Those who register by April 15th will be entered into a drawing for a pair of free shoes from Lex Running Shop. Top overall winners will receive free pints and in some cases food from Brew Ridge Taps. More prizes to be announced! We will be observing wearing masks and socially distancing. We ask that all runners wear a mask before and after the run. For more information about the trail, visit: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us
