The Osprey 10K Run and 5K Run-Walk at Smith Mountain Lake State Park is sponsored by the Friends of Smith Mountain Lake State Park Inc. We are a volunteer 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to promoting the use, enjoyment, and appreciation of the Park. All proceeds go to benefit programs at the Park and foster environmental stewardship and education.
The Osprey Run/Walk is suitable for participants of all ages and activity levels. The course is laid out entirely within one of the most beautiful parks in the State of Virginia. Along the paved route, runners will catch views of Smith Mountain Lake, wooded forests, and the shoreline along the way. The route has easy rolling hills throughout and ends with a downhill finish.
Chip timing will produce accurate results and will be displayed right after completion of the event. Runners will be treated to recovery drinks, fruit and energy bars, along with awards in various age groups for men and women. Runners will receive quality race shirts as a memento of their accomplishment. (NOTE: Shirts can not be guaranteed for registrations received less than 14 days prior to race day.)
