This family-oriented, Superhero themed race offers a course that challenges our hard core distance runners. Short distance runners have complimented the design of the 5K course. Walkers will still be able to enjoy the scenic vistas of historic Rocky Mount. Come dressed in your favorite superhero costume! The race begins on South Main Street and ends back at the Southern VA Child Advocacy Center with tours and refreshments!
The course begins on South Main Street at the intersection by the Rocky Mount Christian Church and the Trinity Episcopal Church, traveling downhill to a left on North Main Street, crossing over the Angle Bridge, staying straight and turning around in the Rocky Mount Fire Department Parking Lot for the 5K participants. 5K participants will then follow the same route back to the CAC by following North Main St., up and across Angle Bridge, back to the intersection where North Main and South Main Street meet, bear right and follow downhill on South Main Street running in front of the courthouse, turning right on Floyd Ave, then right back onto Bank Street to the back parking lot at the CAC. 5 mile runners will continue past the 5K turnaround water-stop on North Main to Benjamin Franklin Middle School to turn around marked with signage and returning back to the rear entrance of the CAC as the instructions indicate above.
*Note-Parking is permitted in the county lot below the courthouse and at Rocky Mount Christian Church.
