Description
What will you be doing for the 15th anniversary of 9/11? We hope you will join us and do the Remember Our Heroes Race in Lexington, Virginia. VMI and the local chapter of Team RWB have joined together to remember our heroes by sponsoring a race in their honor. Make sure you sign up for the Remember Our Heroes Race before the end of June to get the early bird pricing! For best results your bib number should be worn on your front, at chest height.

VMI’s McKethan Park will be the start and finish location for the 5K, 10K and half marathon races at 8 am on 11 September 2016. Each race will start with a battle cry “ROHR” and end with a shout out for each runner’s hero as they cross the finish line. Runners are encouraged to bring their hero, or a picture of their hero, to the race to share in the remembrance. Local veterans and retirees will be invited to join in and share their stories of sacrifice and service. VMI cadets will provide support for the event and be a conduit for preserving the stories of the heroes. They will serve those who have served or are still serving.
